Try running some hi octane stuff with that stuff you can get to stop carb icing. Run that through for a tank and see if that helps..

Have you been getting this problem in the recent warm weather? Some higher-octane stuff could help, but only if its carb icing; you may need to balance the carbs. I used to get a bit of a hesitation at approx. 4000 rpm, until I fitted my fuel exhaust

update:took everything off again today, tank, airbox etc drained fuel bowls, spark plugs out cleaned and gaped, poured stuff into carbs to start it (ironically called 'start yer basterd!!) and it did it ran fine! so obviously a fuel issue. Drained the tank and cleaned it out noticed after the petrol had settled in the container from the tank that there was a milky liquid in the bottom?? Put everything back cleaning as i went and it runs fine now no flat spotsw or hesitation at all, so whatever the stuff was in the bottom of the tank was obviously to blame.
Thanks to everyone who replied with help it did!

Hey, it wouldn't start before because there was nothing in the carbs, turning it over a while lets the float bowls refill. (it's a vacuum fuel tap with no "prime" setting, cheers suzuki...)

Check that the drain pipe through the tank from the filler cap is a) not blocked and b) not venting to the inside of the tank. Normal condensation can also end up in the fuel.
