Default Next Rideout

OK guys, I've had a go at making a route, here it is:

http://tinyurl.com/6dlgnh

If you have any suggestions for things you don't like, things you'd change, etc, just shout! Petrol stop at H in newmarket. If you like we could all then go and stop outside the Harley garage in newmarket for a photo (Black bear lane, just off the high street in newmarket)
Start and End in Perry, the same place as last time, since we all know how to get there, and so we can take in the road of bones again I've also put some of the dash in there Skip, as its now known

What do you think? If you're happy with the route, we can organise when it is then

Can't comment much on the route as we don't know most of the roads, but anything including the Road of Bones has to be good

Might be a bit far for those carrot crunchers though, seeing as they came all the way to Perry last time

Good on you, youngster, for coming up with this though

Other idea I had was on the Essex side of Cambridge, but I think that'd way to far for you and Pete to come..

The road between Linton and Halstead is a blinder..
Gimme a few minutes and I'll put up that route as well.

Spread as far apart as we all are, someone is always going to have a long way to go. We're quite happy to travel further to make it easier for Skip etc this time.

Either route looks ok to me sean, there is Red Lodge which is more central to Cambs and Norfolk lads to get to..don't help Pete and Lissa much though

Red Lodge...............that's the truck stop isn't it?

We can do that Mike, no problem

We've had a couple start from closer to us, so our turn to ride a bit further!

I'm not fussed where we start. If it's at Perry again then it's a bonas for me.

The 1st route looks great, almost like the Cambs TT: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=...29ecd376cabe57

Ah, the famous cambs TT, thats the first time I've seen the 'official' version

Well, the weather was okay this afternoon, so I told Dad we're going out for a ride. Rode part of the 2nd route, and its a lot of boring fairly busy road (linton to sible hedingham) for one short, absolutely sublime stretch between sible hedingham and halstead, so thats a non-starter. I've edited the post and deleted the link to try and save confusion.

We had a coffee in Halstead and I looked at the map, decided to take proper country roads home, found some right good ones

So here is the revised route, sorry for another one, taking in Red Lodge and Perry and some very nice country roads It can be started from either end, its up to you guys. I'm happy to lead most of it as I should know my way around the local roads, but I reckon there'll be plenty of people faster than me to lead the road of bones, now that we all know it a bit, I'd hold people up on my restricted bike
