Default [MODS] Aftermarket Front Indicators

Done on SV650S 2002.

My front indicator was broken a while back when I was lane splitting and someone saw me and decided crushing me was the best idea

Anyway, good excuse for new indicators so I set to work. I couldn't find any guides for how to replace the front ones so I took a few pictures along the way to hopefully help people in the future.

So I did the back ones first, and they're straight forward. Only issue was that the halogen indicators I bought (fyi were about 30ish delivered for 4) obviously don't have the nice SV plugs on them, so I had to lop off the stock plug and soldier them onto these ones. Rear look:

OK so the front was alot harder. Why? This is the stock front plug once you manage to take it out (you unscrew the lens cap, then unscrew the 2 screws in there, then unscrew the screws inside the fairing holding the indicator on from there. The indicator then comes out, but requires force to pull it out (it comes out on the outside of the bike)

OK so now you have an empty side where the indicator used to be:

But how on earth are you to plug them in?? Remember those two screws on the inside we had to take out? I decided the best way to fit new indicators was to make up a plate to use these two screw holes, covering the whole in the fairing (on the inside), and have a hole for the indicators to be attached to:

The part that holds the indicators on in the inside of the fairing looks is pictured below, and I used it as the template for the plate;

Then drill some holes as appropriate;

Now to fit, I used some rubber as the two screwholes that you attach the plate to are slightly raised. Its a bugger to fit the thing as space is an issue, but persevere and you'll get there, should look like this;

End result;

Hope it helps.
