Are you using an external aerial? If you are, and its old you may need a new one. Freesat has just been launched, so if you are in an area with poor freeview coverage, you should be able to use that instead. The other good thing is that Freesat is HD

You should get freeview on a piece of wet string where you are - I run the whole house from a loft arial. Is it pointing at Rowridge, isle of wight?

you in an upstairs bedroom? pop a cable trough the ceiling in the corner, connect to a full size aerial in the loftspace, should work fine, does for me.

No, haven't bought as yet, I'm waiting for the PVR box to come out in autumn. Exactly the same as Freeview apart from being able to get BBC and itv HD. Channel 4 HD sshould be joining the party too. Looking forward to F1 in HD next year.

I guess itn depends where you are, I have my freeview running of a stand alone ariel, but I have signal boster onto top that beore it hits the freeview box, which for works about 95% of the time.
So I would look at a signal boster, but can't say for sure that will work. Can always check with the neighbours see what set up they have and works for them. The best thing as said is run a cable from the main antanne, however you may need to run a singnal booster as the signal can degrade so you need to boost it (thus increasing the gain on the signal) Either option should work, however the main unit is always best, its on list of jobs of here to fix that along some other stuff. I have yet to install the freeview in the lounge in new house, to be honest I would rather ride the bike than watch TV. |
