Right, I know I've only had the SV since March but I've been toying with the idea of a new bike. I bought the SV with 3500 on the clock (K5) and its now got just shy of 8000 on the clock. Its completely standard apart from crash bungs, alarm and imobiliser. Gonna give it a good scrub up next week so it looks nice and shiny. Its been well looked after and has a FSH. Gonna stick a new rear tyre on it in the next couple of weeks as well.
If I do sell it, I'm hoping to get around £2250 for it - do you think this is reasonable? Now again, if I do sell it (and its a big if at the moment cos still not 100% decided), what bike would be suitable for me? I've got a bit of spare cash over the next couple of months and the main bike I like is the Daytona 675 although reading various threads on here, its quite a small bike. I'm 6'3" and 16 stone and I find the SV fine. I also like the look of the R6 - is this small as well? Can you recommend any bikes similar to the above that are going to be suitable for my height? I'm only going to sell the SV if I find something I really, really like the look of. If I decide against selling the SV then I'm going to be spending money on a new exhaust, tail tidy, double bubble screen, possible lower fairings etc which is why I'm toying with the new (2nd hand) bike idea instead. Any suggestions on bikes? Cheers in advance |

All modern sports bikes seem quite small. The latest blade doesn't really seem any bigger than an R6.
R6 looks nice but could be gutless? Love the Daytona but it just isn't worth the money. I really wanted one but on the day I got in my car to trawl the dealers I just couldn't hand over litre bike money for a 675. Gixxer 750? |

Spend it on a European tour and some trackdays. Anyone can just buy a new bike

Thats the other thing. I'm doing 70 miles a day commuting. Half of it is motorway miles but the other half is nice twisties!

Wouldn't bother with the ZX6R is you can get any of the opposition at the same price, gutless and uncomfortable when compared to its rivals now!

The GSXR 750 looks gorgeous. Might look in to this. All depends on how much I can get for the SV really. In Barcelona this weekend but might go and check a few bikes out the following weekend and go from there

I was torn between a Daytona 675 and CBR600RR both amazing bikes.
The cbr600rr is smaller than the daytona, I found the daytona a narrow bike but not 'small' in height, in that respect it felt quite tall and I wondered how anyone could ever scrape their knee whilst on one. I'm 6ft1" according to the gym, and neither were TOO small, although you are taller so you would have to try them yourselve. In the end head prevailed over where my heart was at, and I bought the cbr on the basis of what the Triumph dealer was telling me to do. The Saleman works for both Honda and Triumph. His summary was that both were unimaginably amazing bikea, very quick and very good looking. But honda has its reputation of being bullet proof and very well made.......and triumph have their reputation of being unreliable and not so well made. In his opinion and through experience they both stood up to their names, the triumph after doing a couple of thousand miles will look 'used' and always will form their on, they also come in alot with mechanical and electrical problems like engine managment lights and oil usage. The hondas come in for servicing (which is cheaper than triumph) and thats it. The guy is very good sales/customer service manager and doesnt have a preference between brands just opinions and advice through experience. I still sometimes wish I had given the GSXR750 more of a chance though.
