The tank is the same, but the fuel-pump is not.

K5 bikes reintroduced the flashing and permanently on fuel light, which involves a slightly different fuel pump and float assembly - that's not to say that they wouldn't work in K3 - but I know the part numbers are different.

Do both K3 and K5 fuel pumps fit with a K5 tank then? It is just the tank for sale, I would have to use my K3 fuel pump I'd imagine.

Many thanks Billy and Sv650k4, and ooger I suppose...

I would be astounded if they didn't... I'm sure the hole is the same, and the changes only affect the pump itself.

I done the exact opposite of what you want
K3 fuel tank on my k6 , and the k3 fuel tank is using my k6 fuel pump .

The tank isn't a strait swap , because subframes are different , (k3 fuel tank is a few mm wider , where it goes into the subframe ) so i had to bend the bit of the tank that goes under the seat unit a few mm , or i couldnt pop the tank up...

The only problem i had during the swap , was to figure out , how the remove the fuel pump... the rest was strait forward.

Cool, so hopefully, the K6 one will be a few mm too small for me, so it should fit.
