Default radiator fan problem

hey guys

having some probs with the radiator basically i recently emptyed and refilled the system and it seemed to work fine, was in some traffic today and it went up to 120* and the radiator fan didn't kick in so i turned her off to cool down

right i read a post on the search and there was something about bridging the fan to see if it works, how do you do this?

and i think i am going to re fill the system again to make sure, when i did it last i filled it up and basically squeezed the pipe work for it to get going round the system, but wasn't sure if this is right as theres nothing in the manual that tells you how lol

so if someone can tell me how to do this properly that would be great

thanks

phil

On the rear of the radiator there is a circular brass item with a two pin connector plugged into it, that's the switch that is. Remove connector and bridge the two female spades in it, the fan should run.
There is a possibility that your cooling system is short on fluid, if the switch isn't immersed in the coolant it won't get hot enough to run the fan, of course dependant on coolant level the gauge may still function as it's sender is on the thermostat housing, which is found between the 'vee' of the motor.

I do believe that Mr YC performed some sort of trickery with a paper clip on my fan connector jobbie a couple of weeks back....
