Had a lovely ride to work today - the sun was shining, it's school holidays so the roads are really quiet, and the annoying scooter rider hit a pot hole funny and got a speed wobble
![]() However I'm stuck at my desk with a huge amount of work to do for a presentation on Monday ![]() Do I: A) stay at work and do the presentation, but then spend the whole weekend brushing up for my job interview on Tuesday to make me feel better about it all B) stay at work but spend the whole day on the Org. On arriving at Monday's meeting, turn to my boss and say 'but you said that you were doing the presentation' C) double up in pain, unconvincingly blaming the delicious birthday cake which a colleague brought in yesterday, and duck out to spend the day riding round Surrey on the bike ![]() D) some other inspired idea |

I like C... then you could even come to Soho...
Plus could you not just blame it on 'female' problems, if you boss is a bloke he should go nice and shifty once you start talking about it. I use the same trick with my IBS. |

D) Go home 'ill' delegating the presentation to someone who will do a good job. Then turn up monday, do the presentation, and taking full credit......

Can I just add a tale of caution here.
I never have time off work even when sick, but the wife and I recently decided to skive off to spend some time without the kids. Morning was great but then we decided to go for lunch on the bike. Lunch was nice, and as we were getting on the bike on the way home, my wife decided that her engagement and wedding ring was cutting into her when she was holding on to me, so took them off and put them in the pocket. Had a nice ride home and was sorting out some stuff that we never found time for when my wife came in, in tears.........she could not find her engagement ring. So got in the car and drove back to the place where we had parked the bike. Got out and immediately found the ring - phew!!! I then proceeded to drive the car through a river and right it off!!! Be careful - as My Name is Earl will confirm - its Karma!!! You may think it is my stupid fault for driving the car through the river but I have done the same thing many-many times previously........................KARMA |
