Which is the best for fun, day-to-day commuting and generally the most reliable?

I could rest easy buying a DRZ-SM, XT-X, FMX.

Suzi gets my vote cos its the nearest to the real deal. (Razor seat/****e tank range/ adj. sussies and a lot lighter.) Load of tuning goodies.

Thinking of taking the bop-bop plunge?

get the DRZ400E bike and convert it to SM. or get the SM and wack the E carbs in it

The FMX is very reliable (Honda ) but a tad on the gutless side to be honest. The old Dominator was miles more fun in my opinion.

If you want something that's a combinatino of all three then i'd say a KTM LC4, but they vibrate like a vibrator

If you want something a bit mental then maybe convert a cr500.

if you want something fun AND cummuter friendly, go for the xr400 or 650, the earlier air cooled 600 is very very good. convert one of those and youve got a very good bike. the ktm's, husvuarnas etc are very good, very fun, but when it comes to reliability no no.
