tried searching for it but to no ovail. last thing to do to the engine now is to do the point cam in the curvy mod, before going too extreme with 700 kits etc. am i right in thinking that the exhaust cam of the pointy goies into the inlet of the curvey, and the inlet of the curvy goes into the exhast outlet. how many people have done it and is it worth it?
ive currently got full exhaust system, k&n but soon replaced by BMC, re jetted and the ignition advancer. would it make any considerable difference and would it be worth getting the heads ported again??? |

If it is the only planned mod then I say the K3 cams are ok, however if you are planning to tune the engine more in the future than there is nothing better than JHS cams.

well im not sure yet. i wouldnt mind doing a bit more work to it as i tend to get bored and want to do something to it, but then i just think about getting another bike which i can do more work to which wouldnt be a waste of time. what sort of power advantage is gained from the cam? 3-5bhp??

You need a pair of pointy inlet cams for the inlet side; this is the easy bit as the timing marks will be in the correct place. You then move your original inlet cams to the exhaust side, but the timing marks will be all wrong! But don't panic as you simply need a point of reference to the cam peak. If I remember correctly (it's over 2 years since I did it), I aligned the peak of the cam with the joint line of the case then swaped old cam for the new, keeping the peak on the same line. Not very accurate you may think but as a whole tooth out on the cam chain is quite noticeable - good enough.
