Done a service on the bike a couple of weeks ago and apart from a tight link in the chain the bike was running great. Last week I got new tyres (Pirelli Diablo Strada - can highly recommend them by the way!) and have started to hear a strange noise when riding. Inspected the chain (only done 5k) and found it to be quite tight with not alot of movement and several tight links. Cleaned the chain and re-waxed went out for a ride, same noise and inspected the chain again and it felt normal. Went to work today still with this noise but the chain was back to being tight, got home from work and the chain felt normal again!!!???? The noise and the chain issue have only came about since the tyre change. When I am stationary and rev the bike the engine sounds fine so I'm thinking the noise is coming from the chain. There is also some vibration with the noise which sounds like a washing machine draining. Any thoughts guys? Wheel alignment out (seems OK) or f**ked chain? As I'm new to bikes I don't want to be ripped off by the dealers but I do realise I need a new chain.
Any info greatly appreciated. Colin |
