Yet another recommend me a mobile thread

Righto, I used to be pretty clued up about mobiles but i kind of lost track when coming pre-loaded with Justin Timberlake's back album became the phone feature du jour...

I'm looking to upgrade my phone and was wondering what's good today, i like the look of the N95 but will consider others, Vodafone are going to have to work to keep me on their network as i'm not loyal in the slightest...

Looking for something modern, smart phone type layout, large screen and decent operating system a must. Would like to know which phones are capable of connecting to WiFi networks and surfing the internet, as i'm far more likely to use that than a poncey camera or video calling etc etc.

A £20 jobby with a crap screen but great battery whilst being indestructible

A proper GPS
A fat wallet

Then I'd just carry what I needed, and go to the pub for the rest of the afternoon

whatever they give me i won't be paying anything, so i won;t be saving anything by going for a cheap one...

battery life on the N95 isn't fantastic so i hear!
Indie got a nokia 6220 and that seems to keep him quiet (not called Insp Gadget for nothing)

It was pretty bad when it was new. But now it's 8 months old (or maybe older) it's just dismal. Even if you leave it alone and don't run anything on it, you'll be lucky to get more than 36 hours.
