Default So like, EEP!!! Going contractor...

Aaaannnnnnd I got the job I was after... If not in the form I was originally looking for...

It'll be a full-time contractor role going part-time a month-ish after starting and I'll STILL be on more than I'm on now.

The catch: I have to somehow be out of my current job and sign with the new company by October as they're having a code freeze then and won't be taking anyone else on... That's like... 2 weeks away...

And as my luck would have it, there's no-one around here with any power that I can negotiate my notice period with.

EEP!!

Erm... Life doesn't half throw some curve-balls at'cha.

Well you could just start the new job and not be working yet, as they only need to get you on there books.

IR35

Endless forms from the Inland Revenue and whacking great fines if you don't send them back even though you don't understand what they want

Jobs are a nightmare, I got offered a telephone interview with Glaxosmithkliene, they rang me while I was on holiday to invite me for the interview. Obviously I was on holiday and couldnt prepare as there was no internet which they said was fine and would not hamper my chances....so I rang them when I got back to rearrange and I now have to wait for the next recruitment wave, and they dont know when that will be.

Soooooo Annoying.

Notice periods are a funny thing.
