Default petrol light + clocks fault

riding home on saturday on motorway slightly faster than usual my low fuel light started coming on and off (just filled up) then the speedo/rev counter started cutting off , i searched on here and tried to find problem , battery contacts , broken wires , i had all the panels off , tank up , air box off found nothing are there any wires behind the radiator that could be causing this . put panels back on and went for a ride sunday and the problem always follows the same way , first the petrol light comes on then the dials go off some times speedo first , some times rev , then both dials come back on and light goes off . forgot to say this problem does not affect running in any way . i have just spent £300 this weekend on tyres , parts , etc this week so no funds to take to garage . help please
thanks maclovin

open up the front light , check that all the connections for the clocks are ok, regrease them etc... move them arround while bike is turned on to see if things turn off

nothing behind radiator, there are a few connectors in the front light housing, there is also a couple of connectors just infront of the airbox, one is speedo sensor and other is the plug which goes to the ignition barel. There are a couple connectors running down the side of the bike frame.

Have you tried the three connector blocks under the fuel tank?there at the front near the headstock they are prone to faults, maybe worth a look

Have you checked the mutiplug behind the clocks? In my experience mutiplugs hide a multitude of sins and you need to pull them apart to check inside for evidence of shorting etc.
