Default Round or Oval can?

I'm not sure if this has been covered in one of the hundres of exhaust threads.. but I was just wondering , given the same full exhaust system, which can would have a lower deep pitch to the sound.... would oval or round be the lower one?

I want to avoid that flappy dirt bike kind of sound as much as possible

considering the internal perforated tube is exactly the same in both it probably won't make much, if any, difference

if you want deep and rumbling get a longer can with a smaller internal diameter, rasping comes from shorter ones

but then no exhaust on an SV is going to sound like an uncorked single

a smaller internal diameter? I thought it was the other way around

I dunno... with some of the pipes I've heard they do have more of that flappy, tin dirtbike sound rather than the low rumble of a harley or big block chevy... or big ducati

I absolutely hate the Yosh TRS triangular shaped cans...

I'm not sure what version of Hindle was on my old 99 sv650s as it came with the bike but it was a round aluminum can on a full system... it was a supersport rather than the stealth one.. and I don't know if it had ever been repacked or the material taken out.. but it had a real nice deep growl and drone kind of sound to it... it was pretty loud a number of people mentioned that when I had it on the dyno but the pitch of the exhaust note stayed much deeper and meaner sounding than a lot I have heard

I've seen a number of manufacturers have option to go with round or oval , carbon, titanium, aluminum (or stainless) as the options... so I was just curious as to which I should go with.... I wish ALL manufacturers would make a high quality recording of the sound when they test the pipes on the various bikes so they can give people an idea of how they sound
