Default Radial master cylinders from Thailand on ebay

Would you?

I think they look pretty smart, and are clearly just copies of Brembo's, but would you risk it? Tough call I think, as your master cylinder is basically just a piston to push oil to your calipers, so there's not much to go wrong.

I'll open this one up to debate, some of the main cons will likely be:

- made from monkey metal
- replacement parts (lack of)

I would also argue the small point that it's a part which will kill you if it goes wrong.

I wouldn't. There's nothing wrong with the standard one (on the SV), if for yours, didn't the TT6 have pretty good brakes anyway?

Yeah there's nothing wrong with the brakes on my bike, I just came across them on ebay and thought I'd open it up for debate.

The only real issue I have is the fact I can't buy nice looking levers for my bike (nobody seems to do fitment), but that's just a tarty thing!

Having just browsed a few of the other auctions, some are single caliper some are for both, like this one

I suppose the single brake one is just due to the MC size? Although I don't recognise those banjo bolts, mind you I'm not exactly an expert. I thought the banjos might have been the reason why it would only work on a single caliper, but that's rubbish as well. I could only think it would be the size of the cylinder...

Wouldn't touch it with yours Not all of the thai stuff is automatically counterfeit or terrible, but this stuff is. At least they've stopped claiming it's genuine, there's been loads of accounts banned over stuff like this.

Some of the counterfeits are interesting- not in this case, but with small carbon fibre parts, loads of it is outsourced to china and thailand (most obvious in mountain biking) because they have the best mass-production for-hire facilities for carbon fibre. Often the counterfeits are actually identical to the real thing, made in the same factory!I read about one case where a company designed carbon fibre brake levers, and the counterfeits were on ebay before they'd even received their own first delivery of the genuine ones
