Default 1 Man and a Paddock Stand

How do you put the bike on/off a paddock stand by yourself?!

Obviously without dropping it

carefully, a grab rail helps, you'll get used to it.

I use the cotton reels - hook the nearside with the bike on the sidestand, pull the bike upright with the grab rail, and hook the offside.

I do it.

I locate the Hooks onto the spools.

Hold the rear pillion hanger.

and holding the bike up right

Push the stand down, wither with right arm or foot!

Easy as that, it gets easier each time you use it.

Put paddock stand in right place (ish)

Put a couple of bricks under the side stand so that the bike is more upright

Check the paddock stand is in place, use the grab rail to control the bike and pray LOL

Push down with ya foot whilst praying

OK i not got strength to do but this is how my ex did it alone and it was easy peasy.

Bike on sidestand and in gear to stop it rolling, stand behind bike and lift it almost upright with left hand on the grabrail while manouvering the stand under with right. Locate hooks on swingarm bobbins and settle both paddock stand wheels on the floor. Gently push down on paddock stand to make sure the bobbins are located correctly and that the bike is steady and pulling itself vertical, then push down all the way.

This whole process is made much easier when using chunky tapered bobbins such as R+G ones, as the hooks tend to locate easier in them and they push the hooks away from the swingarm to stop it getting scratched as they swing round.

aye, as lozzo said, having the bike in gear helps alot since then you only have to use your strength/grip to control the vertical balance of the bike. Stand at the back with the bike on its side stand. Move the paddock stand roughly where it needs to be, then gently lift the bike so it's vertical (with sidestand still out just incase). Slide the stand under and voila

I don't have a fancy "bobbins/cotton reel" & hooks paddock stand, just a carp cheap one with pads which sit under the swingarm, so I get the bike balanced vertically and then carefully slide the paddock stand underneath & lift. It takes some practice and I did manage to drop my honda (first ever bike) against a chest freezer the first time I tried it shortly after I passed my test.

Maybe try practising holding the bike vertical and walking around it a bit to get a feel for what it's like... hope this helps

I put a block of wood under the side stand to make the bike more vertical. Then slide the paddock stand (I have the cups rather than the bobbins so it's a tad more difficult) into position until the left hand cup is in position and resting against the underneath of the swingarm. Then turn to the otherside and make sure the brake line isn't going ot get pinched then push down slightly so the bike is upright then the final push to set it on the paddock stand.

You just need to make sure the paddock stand is in position and the easiest way to do that is to get the bike as upright as you can.

I did it 2day... was a proud moment

1) put the stand in place roughly, and once home put a foot on it to keep it there.

2) get behind the bike and lean forward, hands about half way down the rear plastic, then just stand on the paddock stand and woosh.
It should go up.

i have a cowl, but if uve got the grab rail use that.
