Default UK Speed-traps, cameras, 137 mph bike

Might find this video interesting about how the UK has the least road fatalities in Europe.

Don't you Brits measure the roads in kilometers vs miles? Thought y'all were metric.

Nope, our roads are still in miles and speed in miles per hour.

Interesting that the speed cameras in the video actually *caused* the only two accidents on the film. I wonder why we don't see that in any government statistics!

Indeed. W4nkers.

I've had to take avoiding action of spastics who found a driving license on floor one day... slamming on brakes for cameras despite being below the limit anyway...

Mobile camera vans seem to like to inhabit roads which are wide open, and safe enough to do well over whatever stupidly slow limit is in place...

were. Officially we can retain imperial measurement, there never was a cunning plan. It is just the government and trading standards departments that misunderstood EU intentions.

Yeah right. sounds like a u turn by a frightened European commissioner now his dream superstate is starting to unravel

Exactly! I have seen speed cameras cause all sorts of erratic braking, much more dangerous than doing 50 in a 40. Plus there are speed cameras in oxford whos white measure lines are right in front of a junction for one, and a zebra crossing on another, which means I am forced to look at my speedo and not for people crossing the road! Its way too dangerous and it annoys me.

Also what about that biker? Clear straight road, doesn't seem at all dangerous, the presenter even has to say that it doesn't look bad but it is fast! Well if it doesn't seem dangerous then let it be!

Christ I am annoyed now.

That was filmed where I live - Wymondham! G!ts have caught me twice along the A11.

That silver car crashing really gets my goat - if it wasnt for the camera he wouldnt have had to brake. Grrrr
