This little beauty is not budging!
IIRC: 140N.m torque? Had a mate sit on the bike in 1st hard on rear brake. Used a half inch drive universal bar and the bike is creeping rather than the nut loosening, tried penetratnt spray, no joy. Anyone got any tips? Stopped before I broke, ruined, destroyed something on the bike. Cheers |

Maybe take it to a garage with an air impact gun

I just bought a Power Wrench from Netto as the Dukes rear wheel nut is 154Nm
This is it in action. Click on the vid link. http://s72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...arwheel001.flv Only cost 20 quid. Wish I'd had one for undoing the Sv sprocket nut and the lower suspension bolts. Last edited by petevtwin650; 31-10-08 at 09:33 PM. |

Try warming nut gently with a blowtorch, jam back wheel against swinging arm with a big lump of wood. Watch for tyre valve! Be very careful with an impact wrench, can smash cogs in gearbox!

Hehehe. Nice find Pete, I might have to invest in one. The power wrench I mean. |

![]() I need a breaker bar about 4 foot long to undo that rear wheel nut and the chance of the socket slipping off and scratching the wheel is quite high, so I've been on the look out for one for a while. Wasn't going to pay 60 quid plus for one though. |

I had to put a piece of 2inch square between the swing arm and the wheel to stop it from turning and put a scafold pole on my breaker bar to release mine. I didn't lean on it all at once i tried bouncing the pole gradually applying more weight and it eventually came undone. Be careful not to shear the bolt or break the chain!

You need more leverage and a heavy/stronger friend!
