Default Any parking ticket experts? Quick advice needed.

Gota ticket this morning. Where I live cobbled street, no one had a ticket for years. Anyway, village going nuts about the new wardens. two little pr!cks on mopeds.

So my question is this. They were parked up for 40 mins in the bays, taking up 2 car spaces. L plate mopeds. No markings to say the bikes were attendants. One even parked up in a disabled space. They're going around taking photos of all the cars. Locals going nuts.

Since they were in the bays, non marked bikes surely they are liable to pay a ticket too? I confronted one of them who was a cheeky pr!ck. Wouldn't tell me who he worked for then I said OK I'll just photograph your bikes and they both scarpered as soon as I got the mobile phone cam out.

Can these ****s get away with this?

Advice needed - I'm seething at getting a £60 fine.

im no expert, but doesnt sound right, chavvy parking attendants on l plate peds?!! wtf!!
if they jogged on after u trying to get a pick of thier bikes and wouldnt tell u who they work for this also sounds dodgy.
is it not the council?, contact details should be on your ticket, call and check.

after that, as long as its the council, write them an email explaining what you have said here.

even if nothing comes of it and the ticket still stands at least it will give you longer to pay as any disputed ticket is automatically put on hold untill they write to you. and if the letter comes from them a month later saying you still have to pay it, it will still be at the reduced cost if payed in 14 days from the letter...

hope this helps

What address in on your ticket. Call your local council to see who is in chage of ticketing in and what company they use and there mode of transport.

You should have 7 days to pay before it goes up (or is it 14) so do some digging. Oh and grab their reg number if you see it again just incase it is a scam.

Do not send money to PO Box numbers.

And never send an email to the council, or any parking firm or whatever. Electronic communication is fickle and easily adjusted or denied.

Registered post if you need to send anything.

What's to stop you parking on your own road?

Check out all the signage.

Famous case here in Shrewsbury. Bloke got a ticket in a pedestrianised area behind St Chad's Church. He was adamant that it wasn't pedestrianised, but ParkRight (partnership of county and borough councils in Shropshire) were adamant that it was. Appeal rejected. He then served a Freedom of Information Act request on Shropshire County Council which disclosed that the sign had been moved by request from ParkRight made 10 days after the ticket was appealed, and they dismissed his appeal on the basis that the car was inside the ped area when they knew all along that not only that it wasn't but that they had asked the Council to move the sign so that they could uphold the validity of the ticket.

I don't recall anyone being sacked over it. Shows how corrupt the system is.

Maybe worth reporting to the police? Try and get a picture while you are out and about and I thought bikes didn't have to pay either?

Sounds very strange any way if you where only there for 40mins you shouldn't get a ticket
