So, I've currently got a 32" CRT Sony digital TV thats no more than 3 years old. Works fine.
Thought about getting a slim 37" LCD. Saw that they were available for £369 HERE Went in and had a look. They've not got that one on display, but have one out the back. Also got THIS They guy said that if I get either of these I'll be disappointed, and I should get THIS I've not got a clue really, but after looking at the pictures on all the big screens, none are as good as my CRT without HD. Getting them to turn HD off in the shop really seemed to show them up. I'm thinking I might stick with what I've got for now, but still want a bigger TV on the wall. Am I missing anything? Any thoughts or advice? Do I need one of these in my life? How much is a wall bracket going to cost? What do people with TV's on the wall do with their DVD player / xbox etc? Will be used for freeview, Xbox 360, Wii and DVDs. Cheers! |

In a couple of years they'll be introducing Freeview HD and all these tellys with built-in Freeview that they're pushing now will need a new set-top box
![]() So maybe it's worth waiting a little longer? ![]() |

But then there will be something new coming out after that. You'd be waiting forever. It's like buying a new pc, in a few months it is outdated and going for half the price. It's really frustrating lol

if your current one is working leave it and keep the money in the bank.....wait for it to blow up like I did then you'll have to do something.

Would probably only buy a tv that has 1080p HD capability so hitatchi / lg. Hitatchi shows lower contrast ratio but I always find its better to see them in the flesh side by side as figures always seem misleading. 40in with small frame might be worth considering. Looks at the number of inputs. Your wii is not quite HD so will use some sort of composite / component input. Xbox can use vga / component/ composite. DVD would be same as above and hdmi.
Prices are falling at the moment so if you can hold on I guess there may be more bargains to be had. HTH

I'd sit and wait too. OLED is on its way, and is far superior.
