Ride to Hawes today

Heased up there this afternoon and the roads were filthy up until Leyburn.

Best avoid the Ripon-Masham-Middleham-Leyburn road until we get some rain to clean them.

If you're deading up there watch the ice on the road 200 yards past the Wensledale Heiffer pub heading west. Two streams of water have frozen across the road just at the junction.

A far better road was the Bedale to Leyburn route which was salty but mud free and dry. Had a very nice little tussle with a sexy black Lamborghini Gallardo on the way back today! What a car! Such a shame the roads weren't clear and warm! He might have had a chance

Might head up again tomorrow if anyones game?

Might head over to Harrogate first and head up A59 and go via Grassington or Pately Bridge to miss the mucky roads.
