Default V-rod headlight conversion

Anybody installed a Harley V-Rod headlight on a 1st Generation? For a 2nd generation installation, see http://forum.svrider.com/showthread....highlight=vrod

I would rather submerge my testicles in a pirhana infested fish tank than fit anything from a Hardly Dangerous to any motorcycle of mine.

+1 No Hardly Doesaton parts on my bike thank you.

And if you read the linked thread, he only fitted it for looks - never rides it at night.

Hardly a good recommendation......

Maybe you could quote where he says he does not ride the bike at night, could not find that. The H9/H11 bulb arrangement should clearly provide superior lighting to the single H4 bulb. And lets face it, the round naked SV light is, well, BUTT UGLY and was clearly choosen by Suzuki for its price point (translation, it was the CHEAPEST LIGHT THEY COULD FIND).

It may be cheap but it works well. I had a naked K3 SV and the headlight was pretty damn good.

In a response to our very own Northwind he said...

To your other question North I havent wired it yet - I reckon that since I dont ride at night as long as it passes the state inspection its lighting ability is secondary to aesthetics. I will post up about that too once I finish up the loom. Cheers

The SV650 with the V-Rod headlight conversion won the May 2008 SV bike of the month award...

Besides, the V-Rod angle-faced headlight is strickingly similiar to the headlight on the new SV. Apparently Suzuki woke-up and got tired of looking at a BUTT LIGHT on the front of the SV.

So going on the quote above, you chose a light for aesthetics rather than function? F##king hell you can tell it's off a h*rley!

Why not fit some mini-HID's and get both?

I think it looks great personally (the SVOTM photo doesn't flatter it at all IMO) You're reading too much into the "doesn't ride at night" thing- the Vrod has a pretty good headlight. He doesn't say it doesn't work well, he just says he doesn't care if it works well.

Uncle Jesse on SV Rider did the same, personally I think his works a bit better, the clocks on Variable's make it look a bit odd. If Uncle Jesse's headlight was pulled back a wee bit I think it'd look better still.
