Hello Everyone,

After a lot of deliberation, i have decided to try and re-home my two dogs. With a 6 month old baby who will hopefully start crawling soon and trying to save for a house of our own, it is becoming too difficult to keep them. So please help me find them a new home - forward this email to your friends and let me know if anyone is interested. i really don't want to have to give them to a Dogs Home, but need to resolve this in the next couple of months.

Diana H - could you kindly print this and pop it on the staff board at work please? Cheers xxx

Thanks in advance for your help.

Love Deb

2 x Black Labradors in need of a new home

Can you help re-home these lovely dogs? Both are nearly 7 years old, very well trained and in good health. I would be willing to separate them if needed, but would ideally like them to go together.
  • Ruby - Female, neutered, d.o.b 22/4/2001. Perfectly healthy, friendly disposition and very obedient. Fine with other dogs.
  • Bentley - Male, neutered, d.o.b 7/1/2001. Needs medication twice a day (1/2 tablet which is easily given) to keep his skin healthy and is shy around small children. Not very sociable with other dogs he doesn't know, but fine after a while.

They make wonderful guard dogs (trained to bark at the door), enjoy walks, and are happy sleeping most of the day (typical labs!!!). They both know most of the normal commands (sit, stay, lie down, in your bed, paw etc.) and Bentley can bark on command I have both of them fully innoculated and have their full records, pedigree papers etc. They are house trained of course!!! They are incredibly low maintence, but need more love and attention that i have to offer at the moment as a new mum.

I will supply everything they need (bed, leads, bowls, stands, brush, toys etc.) and they eat complete dry dog food twice a day (so no messy stinky tins of dog food to worry about).

If you can help, please call Debbie on 07980 ****** (pm me if anyone interested and ill pass on number)
and she sent through some pics too

Bentley

Ruby

Ive not met the dogs so cant comment on temprament etc unfortunately, if i had a house and not a flat id consider having them but cant

Hmmmmm

Bill (my black lab) is 14 now. Dunno how he'd take another one in the house. Tempting though.

Bet it wouldn't take much to persuade your ma though

They're a lovely pair - yes I am entitled to use that comment out of context - but this is just a prime example of my thread about giving up dog-owning, it's a real shame

Hope she finds a home for them soon.

Shame to split the pair up as well.

Have been looking at newfies, but I'm not sure how my mom would like the walls and roof splattering with drool every morn.

How does she manage to firslty go for a black dog that moults in a house with cream cushions and throws and then an even bigger black dog that needs a bib constantly? LOL Newfoundlands are are beautiful though, but then I like practically all dogs hehe. Oops sorry, bit off topic !

It would be a shame to split them up however, especially with them being of similar ages. How about putting in a few advertisements in the gundog magazines? Labs are great gundogs (with a bit of training of course), and they'd be more likely to be homed as a pair then too...

I'll have an ask at the shoot, gun dog training usually starts younger than that but it's worth a go if they're not gunshy.
