We have come up with a plan and it is a good one.
![]() As I frequently moan, I failed my DAS last year and yet I have a shiny Pointy sat in my garage (all well maintained thanks to a few pointers from Yorkie Chris) just itching to be ridden. ![]() So I was kind of stuck about how best to go about getting some more training, which given that Carol is an instructor was rather irritating. Any way my last job went through Job evaluation some time ago and I was awarded a pay rise, but due to conflict with in the unions it never came, until next Tuesday. ![]() I have not worked in that job since last April and I was owed seven months back pay... ![]() Now I have a small sum of cash about to land in my lap, which means time to get me a 125 and get some road miles under my belt before taking a restricted test. OK, once I pass I will have to have thirty or more horses ripped off of Silvies engine for a while, but given my low confidence on the road and my poor self esteem , that is probably for the best! ![]() So, my question to you, the beautiful and wonderful people of the mighty Org, where is good to pick up a cheap as chips 125 that I can crash, park badly, drop, slide up against walls, stall regularly, leave in the rain, ride to work and train on with Carol riding my non restricted SV yelling advice or abuse in my ear via radio? ![]() My budget is the down side to this sadly, I will only have about five hundred quid so have no idea what I could realistically expect. Also, I hope to be riding my beautiful pointy by the summer anyway so do not want something too fabulous anyway, especially given my record to date on hire bikes! ![]() I am not too bothered as to what make it is, although I am not too keen on the idea of the smokey old two stroker that my mate sold me when I was a kid and then lost before I could collect... ![]() So mighty Org, unleash your opinion and give me both barrels? ![]() You know I love you all ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

£500 at the moment could get you plenty of 125. Bikes can't sell cause nobodys got any cash!! So cheapy cheap bargains to be had on the baydeevil!
Loads a folks got 33bhp don't worry about that one. Don't blame you about the smokey two stroke previously owned by a spotty hooded teenager ![]()

Honda CG125 and if you dont muler it to badly, you'll be able to sell it on once you're done with it without making ot much of a loss either.

I think my friend might sell her CG125, it's a D reg and we bought it off Kwakzzr. It's always passed it's MOT and it is current SORN, as she's not managed to renew her CBT.
If you're interested I could email her. Just a word of warning though, it's only a kick start. Lou Edit: Forgot to say she's in Warwick, which isn't a million miles from Bristol. Last edited by Lou M; 21-12-08 at 09:36 PM. Reason: Location, location, location |

Yup CG's are very abuseable and will still maintain their value. They're dead easy to kick if you get one of the models without an electric foot.

Nope, has to be at least 35kw (47bhp) to be eligble for DAS test, but you can practice on anything. Insurance will be the hardest thing.
