Default Bike Luggage

I'm need some for sure, with the AR this year and also its a pain with just a back pack, which isn't great.

What kind of system would be enough to allow w/ends away to week long trips? What kind of money am I looking at spending? It will need to allow for a small tent as well, ect.

Any idea would be great. Thx

A set of soft panniers and / or a tail pack will be enough for a weekends away. If you know how to travel light, panniers are fine for week or so.

Chris, I used a set of Oxford humpback panniers and tank bag last year. I have another tailpack but didnt need it.
It fits really well if you take a bit of time to get everything adjusted right and it holds everything you will need and more.
If you do need more, they are expandable aswell.
I used a Renteck rack aswell to carry my tent and roll mat but I reckon you don't need one if you are not carrying a pillion.

I use Oxford Sports panniers, tankbag and tailpack that I picked up fairly cheap in a Heinz Gherkin sale a few years ago. They've seen me through several trips (hotel-based and camping) around France, Belgium, the UK and a trip to Glastonbury without any problems. The humpbacks are a bit dinky - depends how much you want to carry.

Well recommended.

I'm seeling my ventura luggage system as it's too big for my needs. It's a 51litre bag, that sits on a rack, and I bought it a couple of weeks ago. It would be ideal for a big trip, or they do smaller bags too, and they get great reviews.

tankbag + tent/sleeping bag strapped to pillion seat + rucksack

don't need panniers unless you're bringing two small dogs

...or carrying a couple of crates of beer to a festival.

If I'm going away for a few days and staying in a hotel I can make do with just a tailpack and something to hold a map and credit card on the tank.

Got there, parked up in a field and realised I didn't have a puck for the sidestand. Cue one swiftly-downed can of lager and a bit of stamping. Problem solved.

More essential accessory than tyre-weld, is your can of lager.
