Default Soulkiss will like this, I had an off in Clapham

Not far from where his was, except on the other side of the road! In terms of damage, I've got a busted indicator, ground down crash bung (does that count as damage), (some more) grazing on the engine casing, and a crack in the top fairing. All in all, the CBR looks pretty much the same as it did before lol. At least it wasn't the 750, which would probably be in a million (pretty) pieces all over the road now.

I also damaged my Joe Rocket textile trousers, in fact, it's the only clothing damage. BUT it's on the left knee...the seam basically came apart, and the mesh that holds the knee armour in place wore away. Given this was done at about 10-20 mph, is this expected? It's weird because the material itself isn't damaged (other than the mesh inside, which is expected), it's just been pulled apart.
I'm not sure if this is something I have to accept as part and parcel of the fact I fell off, or if I can go back to the manufacturer and (reasonably) demand repair/replacement.

Oh yeah...what happened? I feel like I've got some blame purely because I should have been avoiding this, but I think legally I'm in the right. I was coming down the bus lane (which of course we are allowed to do now) as the normal lane was stood still. So I'm in the left lane, basically. A car coming the other way was trying to turn, now I'm not sure if they actually did pull into my path or not, but I braked because they were there. I didn't see anything on the road, although I didn't go up close and inspect it afterwards, so I must have grabbed at the front brake.

On that note, it's amazing how much effort you CAN put through the front brake if you do it gradually...normally I can lean on the front brake loads compared to what I thought I did today!

Anyway front went, bike slid down the road a little on it's left. Hence the damage.

Another reason it's my fault, that I've been beating myself up about, was that I was positioned to the right of the lane...there was a scooter doing 15-20 mph on the left of the lane and I was getting held up. If I'd been to the left I'm fairly sure (99%) I'd have been ok. I should've waited till after the junction!! Golden rule grr!

First of all, no I dont like this - I dont like anyone coming off.....

Secondly, I haven't had an off in Clapham - mine was WAAAAAY down the Brighton Road, halfway between Croydon and Purley.

Thirdly, with only one attendance @ Frith St, no Yellow T-shirt for you....

Fourthly - Listen to the Squid and DONT FALL OFF

Fifthly - I am expecting LOADS of bus-lane related issues since the 5th, HOWEVER I was hoping that the .org would read my post about it and be a little wiser to the ways of the bus-lane.

Sixthly - I would expect better from the trowsers - take them back and see what they will do about it - you should at least expect them to take them away and repair them (Consumer Protection Act kinda covers you for 6 years)

Seventhly (well actually SHOULD be Firstly - glad you are ok and that it was the old slapper you chucked down the road rather than Little Miss Shiney.

Heheh....sorry I don't mean you "like" it per se....oh, you know what I mean....you can associate...

Or maybe you can't I could have sworn your SV was taken out in Clapham between North & Common? I remembered the photos...or so I thought!

I was also expecting bus lane issues, I was too lax and it bit me, oh well...I feel a bit silly but I'll get over it. I really wasn't giving myself much leeway at the time, which was my fault.

I don't think I have the receipt for the trousers, I think for faulty goods that's ok though. I bought them from Infinity Clapham and pretty much did the damage outside them lol should've waited for them to open and gone and complained!

Sorry to hear about your off Muffles.

At least you sound ok and like you say, it wasn't the Gixxer.

Fair play for holding up your hand too for accepting responsibility.

The more I read of the Soho's escapades I'm glad I swapped the manic roads of the Metropolis for the meandering roads of the Midlands.

Thanks, yeah I'm perfectly fine as it was a pretty low speed off. Still annoyed at myself for not avoiding it that's the thing, it wasn't really manic, just stupidity!
