Default You wouldn't believe it........................

I was woken at 8.35 this morning by my bike alarm going off, unusual as it's fairly stable and doesn't give false alarms.

Look out the window to check to see a people carrier just moving forwards and my bike on it's side in the road...............

With my knee it took a few minutes to get some clothes on and down the 3 flights of stairs, to find a women with a couple of kids saying "yeah, yeah I'll be back" as she rushed off down the road.

couldn't believe my eyes, no way to catch her.

went back in and got my camera, took photos of everything and got a couple of guys to lift the bike up.

her car has damage to every corner (took photos of that as well), but she'd managed to push the bike up off it's sidestand to fall the other side, a good 2 foot at least.

15 minutes later she's at my door, with the words "is it damaged" , (of course it bl**dy well is ), although I answer "yes it is", she's all smiles, I get the impression it's not the first time she's reversed into something.

I ask how she managed to hit a big bright yellow stationary motorbike and she said "it must be the towbar thing at the back" (which sticks out all of 8 inches), "as my parking sensors didn't pick it up" .

I suggest she not rely on them and use her eyes as they are obviously not as good a she thinks.

she tells me her mobile number and goes to leave with the words "my husband will come and see you and sort it all out" .

I've have nothing to write the number down on and probably won't remember it anyway, so tell her to wait and I'll get a pen & paper, she looks annoyed at that, but after I tell her if she leaves I'll have to report it to the police, she waits.

Got her details (reluctently I might add) and gave her mine, although she didn't seem bothered about that at all

having been on it's side for about 10 minutes the bike won't start, the front brake lever is snapped and mirror broken, brake pedal pushed it and more scratches on the exhaust, not done a full inspection yet.

But it was the attitude that got me, an "Oh well never mind" kind of thing, blaming sensors or a towbar for pretty cr@p driving, her attitude was more of a these things happen no ones fault, as I said the car looked like it'd bashed several things before, and given what I saw of the driver it wouldn't surprise me find she just "leaves it to Hubby to sort out" .

can't understand some people,or is it just me?

Report her for leaving the scene anyway - which she did - getting "Mummys little darlings" to school is no excuse.

Will also make her re-think her attitude to hitting parked cars - and you could always ask the cop to look into her record of hitting things.......
