Default I predict that I'll have another off before this winters out.

http://www.bedfordtoday.co.uk/bed-ne...rit.4952270.jp

With grit running out and my journey on the SV already being treacherous as it is I maybe sliding on my bottom before too long.

Anyone else in the same boat as me with the bike being their only means of transport?

Pretty much 75% of this winter the nights have been at or below freezing and it's only in extreme cases that I can get a lift. If I didn't risk it I'd never be at work.

and

I really dont understand the point in riding with the weather like it is, I appreciate that you need to get to work and that you dont drive, but if you come off and bust a leg or arm or worse, then you'll be off for a while...

surely that could (and has by others) be extended to riding bikes in general

Cheers Mark.

Yes it could, I just dont see the point in going out on two wheels in the snow when the roads not been gritted, its asking for an off IMHO.

I know it's all money Scott, but can you not find a cheap off roader type 125 to tide you over. You've just spent a lot of money getting your bike right(ish).

Don't envy you one bit, I have to say.

Plus1

This is a job for a cheapo 125 with knobblys (?) ... Easier to keep a 125 upright - easier to pick it up if you don't...

I had the choice a month or so ago, another bike or a car. At some point in my life I'm going to have to get a car on the road plus it'll be safer. If I knew it was going to be this bad then I might have gone with the bike.

How long is your commute? Pete and Sosha's suggestions make sense, if you can afford it. If not, p***bike?
