Default MIGT's/EAR Border Clash...

How does this sound to people...

Taking in some of Northamptonshire's/Leicestershire's/Buckingamshire's/Rutland's (Is that Leicestershire?) finest roads IMO. I was out scouting on Saturday, and last weekends ride with DMC and Pete & Lissa and a few others found me a very good road to add to it all.

The route was almost done till google earth ballsed up and deleted my marked points. Its a biggun, 200+ish, might be a bit too much for some. This leads me to the next point, I could have a look around for a bunkhouse for people to stay in for a night if people are serious about this because it may be a big day for those not from near-ish to the area...

However, I know a lot of people have a lot to commit to with the NW4 coming up and Marches Meander #2 (Or is it the first one?) also, so if people would be genuinely interested in a big-ish route, suggest some dates and lets get the ball rolling.

This could also be MIGTS/EAR & TV with Buckinghamshire involved in the route. Was planning to start and end things at Midland Superbikes as its got the bikes to look at and do what i do, DREAM

Well here is the route so far, I can't add anymore waypoints to this so will have to fine tune way points. The start is set from my house so will be a little different to this but a rough idea of most of the route.

Well. I am on NW4, MM2 and the Rutland Ring Rideout. So depends on dates for me.

Would join this as it passed Brackley (dates permitting)

I would not advise taking any significant group up the Dadford road past Stowe. Its little more than a single track lane until it tops out at Stowe ridings prior to Silverstone. ( as are the Hartwell road and Hanslope roads IMO)

Also whilst the 361 is a nice road (or was) it now has double white lines for much of its length plus several villages restricted down to 30 with speed traps of various types.

The adjacent 423 is a superb road plus the return stretch of the 425 is also a good road.

Never done the 423 Tilt as don't know my way through Banbury so will now be tempted as you have recommended it.

I quite enjoy the road from Hartwell down to Haversham, that is actually a wideish road (it has a line inbetween), a lot of people don't like the very technical bit where there are virtually 90 degree bends. Unless you mean the Ashton Road to Hartwell, in that case, yes, I know what you mean, it is not marked and can cause probs. The Hartwell to Haversham is OK though IMO.

Also, yes, the 361 has become rather cack, unless it is empty with traffic, you don't really get a decent run down there, the surface is the best part about that road. And also thinking about it, another problem is the fact that it is a 50 mph for the last bit.

Thanks for the helpful input Tilt.
