Angry Indicators on speed

Just replaced my indicators and when flashing they are on twice as fast ish.... but when i go to full hazards they all flash at the normal rate???

Is this cos small indicatorss need to grabmore attention so they blink faster?? or the impedance or the speed the electrickery goes down the wire??? sorry I'll be genuine...

Have I made a pigsear of fitting them?? considering no instructions..... or is that right. anyoneelse experience this

rightlyannoyed.....

they look gr8 though

Are they all lit?

Are they LED's, if so you will need to fit a new relay to bring the flash rate back down to the legal limit.

Or change the flasher relay to a lower rated one.

Cheers Mark.

Sorry Dave, I'm afraid he shouldn't do that....................

Its a much better idea to replace the flasher unit - the resistors cost about the same but just end up producing loads of heat.

Unfortunately there is no direct drop in replacment flasher unit for the SV (was SOOO much easier on my Z750) but its not that hard to do - well I managed it .

i had the same problem when i put LED indicators on my SV.

two options, get some resistors and wire them up, or
get a new 'flasher'
http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk...kw=flash+relay there is one there for £15

i have a wiring diargram of wiring up the resistors into the indicators if you need it send us a pm and ill send it straigh over

It's the relay. When you have your hazards on all four are flashing thus normal rate. Just need the right relay for your watt bulbs (or leds)

Your new ones are 10Watts each, the standard flasher relay is designed for 21W lamps. Flashers are designed to give a fast flash rate when one lamp has failed, to let you know something is wrong. The flasher is only loaded with half the design current so it thinks one has failed.

As the others say, new appropriate relay or add load resistors.

Is there any info on where to fit the flasher relay. Am I right in saying I just get a wiring diagram, chop the two indi wires going into the relay and hook them through a flasher unit? I'm doing this tonight. At present my LED indicators don't flash at all...hopefully this'll change whenI've fitted the flashy flash.
