For $4K I'd rather just buy an extra snowmobile.
In prctice a decent set of off road tyre would probably be all you need.
The problem in this country is always that the side roads are covered in snow but the main roads are clear of snow so this would not help at all, it's just a fun thing. Same reason you can rarely use snow chains here although I did see one Discovery using them on Monday.

That looks good fun, first time I went skiing I was pining for my CR500 back to go and annoy the skiers on.

Yes, 16+ ft on Horseshoe Pass going to Dragon Rally in 1963 or 64.
Had to turn back when snow was above telegraph poles!
