Default Front forks are corroded.

I have front forks that have corroded. I was wondering if there is a way of bringing them back or do they need replacing, and if so how much does a new pair cost. Any advice would be appreciated

The lower bits? They always go funny unless you do something with them. Best method is to paint/laquer them from new... but obviously too late for that . You can rub them down with wire wool then finer and finer glass paper until you get a smooth finish (depending on how picky you are) and then paint/laquer them to stop it happening again. Probably easier to rub them down and paint if you want a quicker job, otherwise you will be sanding them down for a long time...

if you go down the polishing route, don't re-laquer, you'll have wasted your time and effort polishing them, as after a while it'll end up how you started corroded. Its the laquer lifting that introduces salt into the ally, then its all downhill from there.
