How much are competitors looking to pay? I can imagine it's as little as possible but for a first season, what would you need other than a race worthy bike?. . . Kit wise ( I have an idea )
Just weighing up some options for next year Cheers John |

I try not to think about the total cost, it doesnt seem that bad then
![]() Once you have a race ready bike I think the main costs are entry fees, tyres and fuel. Tyres, you 'could' change every round. In reality I dont think thats necessary although it depends on which club you race with and how much racing per round. In my case its typically three 7 lap sprints within a day so tyres are good for a few rounds at least. You'll need dry tyres, wets on wheels etc. Dont forget to factor in the odd crash repair, they do happen. Last edited by flymo; 02-03-09 at 08:51 AM. |

The club I marshall for....the general figure banded about (other than I dont want to think about it) is around £5000 (not including having a race prepped scrut passable bike)

Thats to do every race in the season which is 7 for the club I marshall for. That includes race entry, traveling, camping, food, but does not include for unscheduled maintenance through dropping your bike or engine/gear problems etc.

![]() Yep I would say the money would be much better spent on trackdays. Get MUCH more time on the track for your money.

I think no limits do a good season ticket for about £1500 - £2500 and you can do every single event on their calender.....you would have to do 1 a week to make it worth you while....you do get 25% off their euro trackdays though to almera and the likes.

WEas going to say, if you go through 9 pistons in a season like my old man did on his single, the costs somewhat rise quite a bit.
Tip - Use a reliable bike ![]() Tip - Don't crash ![]() |
