I have just put a new exhaust on my 02 sv650, and it seems to be running quite lean as you would expect. I am thinking about sticking a K&N in it then taking it to be dyno jetted to complete the stage 1, but it would be much cheaper to just buy some bigger jets and fit them my self.
Does anyone have any experience with this, and could tell me the advantages of taking it to a professional? Im not keen on doing the job myself as i've had some bad experiences of rebuilding carbs, to find that the bike no longer runs, so i would prefer to take it somewhere but is it really worth the cost? Are there any other options? I'd be grateful of any help you guys can give me |

If you want, take it to a dyno and see what she runs like, bring some bigger jets with you, and have them fit them on the day untill she's running sweet.
Otherwise, swap them out your self and follow the haynes ... it's not brain surgery but it can be tricky and tough to work in around when fitting and removing |

I didn't even know scorpion made a full system tbh. Pics?
Advantage of taking it to a dyno place and having somebody else do it is they've got a machine there to tell you almost instantly what the fuelling is doing. Whereas on the road you will continuously be swapping jets out and getting frustrated riding it. But, it's pricey.

also bear in mind a professional setup will be "aired on the side of caution" so unlikely to damage your bike (after all they don't want you coming after them), where as the same can't always be said of DIY jobs.
If you've a fair idea of what you are doing and have a full system and race filter fitted then the benefis are well worth the effort, but if it's only a slipon can a full race filter won't work properly with it, basicaly if you've still got the original headers leave the jets alone. Cheers Mark.
