Good idea?Switch off-attached to main fuse.

Hi, guys I read all posts about alarms...and my conclusion is that its not worth to buy one ....

Im thinking now to make myself switch on/off, which will be connected to main fuse and hided under fairing or under seat (I dono exactly where to fit it, yet)

(if someone will say: what if thief will find this switch and turn it on, then it doesn't make any sense to fit it) - I was thinking to fit this switch somewhere In fairing and to use special switch for a key...(to turn it on or off You will have to have special key)

What do you think about this unusual idea??

Ive got a hidden kill switch on my KTM as its got no ignition switch.
I use an electrical cylinder lock as once the key is in place it wont turn off again until the key is removed.
This stops it from cutting out on you.

But as most bikes are not ridden off an are usually broken up rather than resold as a whole, I would argue if it was worth it.

Before car imobilisers were fitted as standard to cars I always used to rig a switch in the LT circuit and hide it under the dashboard. The thing about security is that anything is better than nothing and the more independent security measures the better. But whatever you do, make sure it won't leave you stranded.

+1 most bikes are carried into a van etc,

... if you could invent something that increases the weight of your bike 100x whilst parked or even tyres that glue/ bolt to the road, that'd be much more worth it!

On a car, I'm with you.

On a bike it won't stop it being picked up and put in a van, or wheeled off by kids, so it doesn't help, plus I bet you a shiny English pound it'll cause you an electrical fault and leave you unable to start the bike at least once.

but an alarm will warn you if said van knocks it over ,or kids try to wheel it away

But we were talking about a user-fitted ignition cut-off

How about rig a hidden switch to a movement sensor/tilt switch linked to the horn. Someone moves the bike the horn sounds continuously.
