look i have not actually passed my test(wife thinks it is mid life crisis) but am trying to get gear together for when i do. Already have FT Trousers,
and an arlen ness jacket(BN of fleabay for 100 notes) Am now looking for boots. Have seen a pair Oxtar SS Performance 2 waterproof for 92 is this any good boots look ok and being in gods own country i will get rained on at some point so water proof is a must. Any pointers greatly received. Will also be looking to buy a pointy after test(hopefuly pass at the end of month) Will have around 2500 what do you think that will get me. All comments gratefully received. |

I found a Hein Gericke shop not too far from work and tried a whole selection of different ones. Ended up with some "Maddox" boots that score zero for style, but full marks for comfort and keeping the water out.
£2500 should get you a reasonable pointy. I paid under £2000 for a scruffy SK4 with a rather suspect exhaust, but it's my first big bike so I didn't want anything too shiny. Just like buying cars, it's worth taking along a mate who knows something about bikes when you go shopping. Good luck with the test, Keith. |

sidi vertigo are my chosen boot.
great looks, comfy (although not for everyone). theyre not waterproof but i wear them all year round and never had any real issues with them. probably wont go far wrong if you have a look whats for sale on the org. should get a tidy piece of kit for that money. best of luck with the test. |

I say buy the boots you like and buy some plastic overboots for when its pising down real hard. They're great. I always carry a pair in my backpack.
BTW You guys may have noticed that most of us here are showing our face in our avatars for this month. Please comply! |
