Default fitting downpipes?

i have the ones with the cup type thing, then the pipes (4) fit with springs

i was struggerling on saturday, although i did have a few pints first, and it was getting dark

so i wajust wondering the eisest way to do it, fit the cups to the pipes then try to bolt them to the engine, or the other way round

Take the engine out of the frame and fit the cups, put engine back in and, using the springs, fit the pipes.

Fit the stubs first, but leave all the bolts a little loose. Get the pipework in place and make sure everything is happy and unstressed -any bits under tension have a risk of cracking, when the fit is good tighten up the bolts from the front to the back.

As you're changing to a new exhaust fit new gaskets.

i did it the other way i put the stubs on the pipes, which was hard,. so i started again the way you sugested, its done now, but it seems to be blowing from the manifold,

i did not get new gaskets, as i did not read your post in time.......

i will order new gaskets, and try again. i have done them up quite tight, as i dont want to snap the bolts,

Fit new gaskets as advised, tighten bolts to the specified torque.
