I was on a straight today and it took off after running all the way across the road and flew back where it came from (the good old double-double bluff).
I ducked and the wing mirror of the Hornet took the brunt, folded back and the pheasant got me on the shoulder. Didn't hurt because of the armour but it was a close one ![]() ... and then it flew off! C |

So if a second one comes along, does it get to take you home for the pot?

Only ever got one with my footpeg on the bike. They can be weighty birds, I prefer to go after them with a 12 bore
![]() More skill is required in future Carl, none of this allowing them to fly off afterwards! Last edited by Tim in Belgium; 16-03-09 at 12:18 PM. |

I hit a pigeon. Hit me square on the forehead. I saw it coming and ducked down a little thinking it will never hit me. Next thing I know. SMACK! Straight on the swede. Saw it spiral off in to the undergrowth and there were bloody feathers everywhere. Looked like a pillow fight.

I remember watching that too!
Sent out on Sunday and the buggers where all over. One in the road which I had to brake heavy for and one on the wall decided to take off as I was going past and fly at me! |
