Cool Off i went, at least it wasn't raining.

Yeh so this is my first off, i'm sure there will be more can't remember much of the build up really...

was following a friend on his gixer up to a roundabout, all i remember is seeing him rolling along, looking right to see if there was any traffic, absolutely none, but when i looked forward he'd stopped, only about 15 mph. Still, hammering on the front brakes like the absolute newb that i am didn't help the situation, and down i went on the left side, and took out my mate on the gixer! I suppose that's one bonus. Nah his bike's fine (thank fook) and he's got a swollen ankle. He was alright about it 'cus he's that kinda guy, but eek i felt stupid.

So damage to me, swollen ankle, bruised knee and hip.
Damage to bike ;
  • Front hugger cracked right in the middle... fender extender glued onto it aswell so i'm double fooked on that one.
  • Front right fairing bodged out of position, bit of shoving didn't manage to get it back in but i don't think that'll be too hard.
  • Windscreen cracked off on the right hand side, i've got the missing piece but i don't fancy having half a windscreen glued together.
  • Front left fairing has a 3 inch scratch, can't tell if it's past the paint but i think it is.
  • Clutch lever broken, only the little bobbly bit off the end, still works.
  • Speedo casing (the watertight bit) has come out a bit and can't get it all the way in... (oh dear?)
  • Worst one of the lot... gear lever thingy (left foot rest) fallen off, sheared at the two bolts that hold it onto the bike. Gear change still works but the lever is totally fooked and the toe rest thingy with the rubber around it came off too.
Found a square-ish piece of plastic aswell but i dunno where that came from.

So i learnt a lot from having a bike on my leg and i doubt i'll do it again. Weird thing is, only about 6 months ago, someone did exactly the same thing to me, in exactly the same spot, although that was in a car so i didn't care so much.

On top of all that, i'm stone flat broke, so i've gotta hope that some money comes my way soon otherwise i'm gonna be spending 3x as much on fuel for my ****ty car!

hah, rant over

Cheers Husky. Few pics below of damage (broken windscreen aswell) Any help appreciated.
I PM'd Adam Castell who has some parts going aswell so i'm wondering what he's got.
It's the hugger and windscreen that are going to be the big expenses, along with that bloody fender extender which i just bloody glued on.

Thanks again.

i'm on it re your gear selector-you checked your forks and front sub-if the fairings don't line up it normally points to the sub being twisted/bent. I should have a spare gear mount etc in the garage for my rebuild bike-if i can't source you one pronto you can borrow the one i've got until I can get a replacement-you cover the postage i'll send it down and once i get another we can sort out the bangers. If your short of bangers at the moment i'd just fibre glass the mudguard from the inside and get some black adhesive sheet cut to cover up the damage on the outside till a cgb one comes up-I might have some black sheet in the garage will check and get back to you
