Default engine/cluth slip around 8K revs

just been out for a ride after changing my oil (checked the level since ive been back home and its just below the full line, so looks ok and everything is where it should be and no leaks) and i noticed a slip in somthing when the revs got to 8K, the power didnt want to come and the bike didnt want to rev. I didnt notice this at the start of the ride, was about after 20miles.

Before I noticed this is was thinking how much differance the oil change makes and how nice and free the bike was reving.

what do you guys think?

You didn't use car oil did you?

Other than that, check your clutch adjustment. I've had similar when I wrongly adjusted the clutch in a hurry, went to overtake a truck in an NSL, and the bike crawled past him revving it's nuts off.

just adjusted the clutch, went to start it and...

the bike primes like it should, just nothing when you press the starter

Have you disturbed the clutch switch wires (I think they're just below the adjuster on the lever)?

If you look just beneath the adjuster on the bar lever you'll see two little wires and a connector.

I'm not saying it definitely is this, but it sounds possible.
