Question 1999 sv650s rear brake master cylinder

Noticed that my rear brake master cylinder was bent so bought a new one for it

before

after

as you can see the rear brake leaver doesn't align unless the rear brake master cylinder is bent

anyone got any ideas?, maybe the rear break leaver is not the correct one for this bike?

thanks
nick

it's definitely not going to line up if you push the lever down a bit is it?

Can you shift the mastercylinders position at all?

Yeah must be the wrong lever
Put the bent one back on if it works lol

the lower part of the master cylinder should be able to move from side to side, it isnt always in line with the master cylinder itself.

re you sure there isnt any further damage? Soemthing must have given it a good clout to bend it out of shape like that.

The actual mounting bracket and peg seem to be the right one, the master cylinder is over as far as it'll allow, but we think it's just the wrong lever. Looking at one on ebay the SV levers lug on the back seems to be longer and be a bit higher.

Is there any chance someone on here can take a photo of theirs for us please so we can see? Then we can see if it's just the wrong lever or if there is something else odd about it

Cheers

have a look in the forsale section for an ad by me, go to page two and there's pictures of a lever.
