Default New restriction

Well yesterday i did a little experiment about de-restricting a pointy sv650.

Now i know what you’re all thinking, just a ecu swap bla bla.

This SV however had been restricted using washers in the air box side of the injectors (just like my old Curvy SV) so im thinking score, whip them out job done. However this wasn’t the case! The bike still performed quite badly.

So at this point im thinking maybe a remap, but just in case i whip out the injectors. Now this is the strange bit - i find another restriction on the throttle springs stopping them from turning all the way round too full power! Once the stop was removed the SV jumped back to full speed again.

Now I’ve seen loads of different forms of restriction and heard about throttle stops before but never on a new bike and especially on a SV.

So just a warning as i aint seen anyone on here wright up about it!

Ta

Yeah that's the FI international kit. Load of badly developed, overpriced b0llocks IMO.

FI international, biggest bunch of c##ts outside of politics.

The FI international restrictor kit for the curvy is two plain steel washers under the carbs which they will charge you the princely sum of £172.99 for.

However you also get a certificate that has no legal status and "proves" that the washers were at one time fitted but very little else.

How can they get away with monopolizing the market? Is there any other companies out there that offer similar services?

Just OEM stuff.

They also love disinformation about their "legal status" which implies that they are some sort of recognised body for providing such a service.

Just to put another nail in their reputation I think they might be based in France.

The law states "net power output" ... FI int. will happily sell you a restrictor kit for a bike producing under 33bhp as standard!!
