Default Black or white SV?

Hi, first post - hoping to pick up a new SV soon - currently on a 125 but the commute from Essex into London is becoming a massive chore (40 miles each way at pretty much full throttle) - so I did the theory and now have my Mod1 booked for Monday - if that goes to plan then I'd hope to have Mod2 done within a month or 2, I can only train on weekends so a block booking was out of the question. (I've been riding since about 2005 (4 CBTs!) so it's about time I pulled my finger out and got rid of the Ls!)
Was looking at 4 pots but for the price the SV seems to tick most boxes. The garage have 2 SV650S available (a white one and a black one) so I need to have a think, black looks meaner but white is probably safest (easier to see!)
I've had a look around the forum here and it seems a useful place to be a part of!
Cheers,
Steve.

Hi Steve, good luck with the test, I believe the done thing is to introduce yourself in either your regional section or IB, and stick your area in your profile (and it'll come up under you username to the left).

Anyway, personally you can never go wrong with Black, I'm not a fan of white bikes never have been, although saying that I did fall for the superduke in white, but I'd rationalize that by saying it's actually a black bike with six panels in white (I have black ones to), but it's up to you, get the one you like better, you'll have a headlight on reguardless (can't turn them off these days), and it won't matter what colour bike you have if they don't look they aren't going to see you.

Cheers Mark.

If it's going to be your baby, it don't matter if it's black or white... just as long as it's pointy

You really cant go wrong with black, but having owned 2 black cars i can tell you black a cnut to keep clean. But there is nothing that looks better than polished and waxed black paintwork!

But if it was me at the moment id be buying white. Having seen a metallic white pearl gsxr and a white repsol blade i have developed a bit of a fetish for white bikes. But thats just me!

Welcome and good luck with the training.

I have / had two black bikes and keeping them clean once waxed has never been a problem.

I like white also actually, the triumph white looks almost old English white and that's the colour I'd go for.

I've got a white SV with the blue stripe down it's spine...
I bloody love it.

I like to see it as sexual white chocolate...

Nothing in life is black and white.....somebody will always come along and grey things up a bit!

Are both bikes identical? Giving you're going to be using it daily to commute some little extras might make all the difference. Things like racks, heated grips/handguards, chain oilers or even the tyres it's coming with might swing it either way.
