Sorry but yet another muppet who hasn't read through the thousands of posts to find the information, thats me!
I seem to be another person ripping a perfectly nice front end to bits just to gain some pretty forks and a bit of damping! I do wish to point out that i dont belive i ride hard enough on the road to feel the full gains of the suspension work, but i love the look and consider myself quite anal about these things! I ride an R1 race bike on track, and see no point in trying to knee down on the road, unlike many of my "pub mates". So here is the question that will make you sigh..... Will GSXR1000 K1/K2 discs fit on a K8 SV650 rim? I really want to keep the sv wheel and speedo setup, so i have designed and am having made a couple of adapters to allow the gixxer forks to take the SV spindle, i have no brakes yet but really fancy the six pot's, however they are a big caliper and wont suit the diddy 290mm sv disc. Any hep will be greatly appreciated PS. 50mm clip ons...... TLS or i belive 03 Blade, does anyone have an idea which will give more rise, and before anyone mentions it, i really dont want to do the risers bolted onto the top yoke thing. cheers. pps, just read bit about thread titles........sooorrrrryyyyyy!! So you want GSXR forks & discs & calipers.
But SV wheel & speedo? Why? TLS clip ons - I think that's what I have ![]() |

yes they fit perfectly.. but the wheel boss size is far to narrow to fit in between the GSXR1000 k1-2 callipers... so you would need 3.5mm spacers for the calipers
size of sv650 K6 front wheel boss is 121.5 size of gsxr1000 K1-2 between discs is 127.5 -.5mm per side for the GSXR1000 k1-2 disc recess so sv650 k6 for example with GSXR1000 k1-2 discs would have a spacing of 120.5mm between the discs take that away from the 127.5mm of the GSXR front wheel disc spacings and you have 7mm divide this in 2 gives you 3.5mm you would also need to work out mating faces of bearings for the spindle conversion.. |

![]() the wheel because i like the colour, its the sort of gold grey colour, i think it would be hard to match, and the speedo because when i come to sell the bike it will be back to 100% standard, with nothing modified. Thnaks very much for the info on discs, having looked through a parts catalogue i belive that to be a very common disc, shared between the gsxr 1000, a 750, busa, tlr/tls and many more, should be easy to find. |

Bibio reckons the GSXR1000 discs have a very slight negative dishing to them, 0.5mm cut taken off the hub-side.
For speedo just find a knackered or spare one, use that plug to connect the usual sort of hall effect sensor to the bike... hey presto, plug and play. Very easy to return to standard.

Thanks guys, i am going to have a couple of 3.5 mm thick flat spacers machined to move the disc out rather than spacing the calipers inwards, i think from a mechanical forces point of view it will be better. Lucky for me i have a good friend who is a precision engineer and can make these bits for me, he has assured me that the disc spacers will be perfectly flat!

to me moving the callipers inwards makes much more sense a lot easier to make the spacers and is easier to find correct bolts.. |

+1 unless some correct bolts from another bike happen to fit

Can't see it being that much of a problem, plenty of companys out there to make bolts to spec. A mate of mine used to work for such a company and said they used to get a lot of bikers coming in for nuts/bolts etc.
