Default Charging problem.

So after todays problems and being told by RAC that its the regulator rectifier thats causing it, im going to need to purchase a new one and another battery.

This will be my 4th battery and 2nd ret regulator in about 5 months does the mighty org think there may be a deeper issue than just me being unlucky?

my dad seems to recon its something to do with the alternator

thanks to Anna for the idea to ask the experts

Can't say without some more info, there are a number of posts written by me on this very forum giving info on checking the charging system - including alternator tests. Do those and you might have a better idea what's wrong

Have you bought a multimeter yet to check the charging system? You need to do that and post the results you get.Far cheaper than buying batteries and you can recheck the thing every now and again to make sure its not going wrong again.
