As far as I'm aware, the shocks used in both K3 thou's, and K6's are identical. So it should just a simple matter of swapping. But I haven't double checks part numbers, so not 100% sure.

I swapped a stock SV shock in place of my old one. The hardest thing about it was getting to the top bolt for the shock.

Basic approach:
- Bike on NWS/Abba stand.
- Undo the two bolts for the dogbones. Undo the shock from the linkage (bottom of the shock). At this point, the swingarm will be only held in by the pivot point, and it will want to fall down at the rear. I had the rear wheel removed anyway, and held the swingarm in place using a ratchet strap.
- Undo the top bolt, shock drops out.
- Position new shock, and put top bolt in by hand, then linkage bolt by hand.
- Torque up linkage, then put dogbone bolts back in, ensuring swingarm lines up.
- Torque everything back up, and have a congratulatory coffee.

It depends how quickly you work, but it's a 1-2hour job tops IMO. I used the existing bolts from the old shock, and applied grease liberally.

without an Abba it's doable.

Paddock up the rear and remove the wheel
place Axle stands under the pillion pegs
drop the shock and grease linkage while there
Rebuild.

Looks difficult but right tools = easy job.

If you're in there again pull all the bearings in bits and grease them, just greasing bolts will be no good.
