Curvy refers to the early models of the Sv, pointy the later ones (left and right pictures at the top of the page), as Husky stated the year of registration is denoted by 1997 =97, 2003 =k3 etc, not 100% on this but pretty much all curvys have interchangable parts, as do all pointies except some variances in the K3 (I think)
Other slang used ? hth (hope this helps) Yours for example is a curvy. which some deluded people will tell you is the best kind but everyone knows pointys are best. ![]() |

99-02 s = curvy carbed versions also know as sk sy k1 and some others
99-02 n = as above but naked 03-current s/sport = pointy faired injection version also know as k3 k4 ....... 03- current n = as above but naked notable points : k3 was the first pointy it was taller and was redesigned for the k4 onward so many of the k3 parts are not interchangeable with the later models due to the rear sub frame change and curvys look better go faster and shows a superior standard of taste and class than they ugly pointy horrible injection versions (bais me never ![]() |

the one in you picture is an SK1, s becuse it is an sv605s and the k1 for a 2001 model.
suzuki designate the model with a reference, in the year 2000 suzuki motorcylces were designated with a k and every year after that the addition of the year number is added. k - 2000 k1 - 2001 k2 - 2002 k3 - 2003 k4- 2004 k5 - 2005 k6 - 2006 k7 - 2007 k8 - 2008 k9 - 2009 2010 is due for a new letter. |

Also bear in mind that the year of first registration may differ from the year of manufacture, so you will see k3s on an 04 plate, or indeed a k5 on an 08 plate if it spent 3 years unregistered.
