Default Air Bags in Your Leathers

Just been watching the guy from Dainesse talking about Guy Martins leathers for the TT with the air bags in

Wild idea but
how practical
and
how long before somebody tries to make the compulsory

Whats anybody think?

if i wanted to look like the michelin man i'd dress like one.

only thing more embarrasing than having a crash is then waddling around in some sort of sumo suit.

How much more would you bounce is what I want to know?

Right into the path of some dork in a car no doubt

They were trialed by (I think) a 125 GP rider last year.

The airbag inflates around the shoulders and neck - I would guess to reduce movement of the head during a crash.

Not sure how effective they would be, but like all protective equipment they are a form of damage limitation and nothing more.

Can't see them being compulsory - Dainese would surely have them wrapped up in patents so no other manufacturer could sell exactly the same thing unless under licence.

From the video's I've seen you seem to bounce more. I dont want to bounce when I fall off, that's bad, I want to slide and I don't want to be weighed down and have my movements restricted by some stupid jacket.
