Just a quick question to anyone who has used one. I bought one a while back and used it on my curvy with no problems. Went to use it on my SV1000 today and as soon as I go to raise the bike the stand comes into contact with the rear brake lever.
Don't know if it the same with the 650, is there an adapter required (didn't think many bikes needed them with the NWS stand) or am I likely doing something wrong? |

have you tried using it the other way around, rolling the bike either forward or backwards onto the stand

I tried putting it in the other way but the the bit for your foot is on the inside and the little lug that it pivots on is on the wrong side, didn't think it seemed right and didn't want to risk trying it fully as I was only myself and I just got the bike - would hate to drop it.
Have you tried this, or just a suggestion? |

I use an NWS ULTI-MOTO regularly.
With that, there's a rather large bit of box section that acts as a base, not the little bracket you get on the other NWS. The ULTI-MOTO also has a 2foot metal pole to pivot the bike up with. There's one long "leg" (inserts into the swingarm pivot and goes under the bike) and one short "leg" (inserts into the swingarm & has a hole for the long leg to insert into). The long leg does in the pivot point at the gear lever side, the shorter one on the brake side. The two together, once secure, lay forward of the pivot points. Insert the "feet" section underneath, then lift the bike upright, use the pole to lift the back wheel off the floor (the whole bike will move forwards at this point) & lock the long leg into place on the foot using the spring bolt provided. Job jobbed, and easily possible by yourself. |

PM SVGrandad - he has an SV1000 and an NWS stand. I think it might need a spacer.

That's what I've been trying. worked fine on my curvy.
On the stand I've got (not sure of the model) the side with the long leg goes to the gear side like you say the the other section slides over it into the RHS swingarm bolt hole then tighten the allen key bolt. Then insert the bar and the back end lifts. When I try this with the thou when it gets to about half way to final position, the stand hits the brake lever. Seems quite odd. Just looked at the website, think it's the 'ulti-pro' which I have! Last edited by gavinsky23; 04-06-09 at 03:07 PM. |

We solved this on my 650 Pointy by using a cheap/sacrificial long socket in the swing arm pivot on that side.
So, socket in the pivot, with the driver-end (square) out, then NWS into that.

On the SV650 & SV1000 they sold a little spacer to sit in the holes to avoid this. As David says, use an old socket if you can.
